Poly 4x4

These guys are the best in the business. I’ve just recently found poly 4x4 as I’ve had a few issues pop up with my wrangler. The issues were diagnosed and explained to me in detail, and then fixed quickly and to a high standard. My jeep has never felt so amazing to drive after I got it serviced here too. They are an extremely friendly and accomodating team. Will definitely be coming back!

Rang Poly Tuesday the 10/1/23, I had found my oil cooler had given up and was allowing oil to flow into the coolant system. Spoke to the John in service who told me they could do the job and to bring it down. I needed the car back by the weekend as we were going away for two weeks, he said they will get it done so it sounded hopeful. Only about an hour after dropping the car of John rang me to explain they had done a Tee-Kay test and the found combustion gases in the coolant so the engine was stuffed. Not knowing a lot about these tests I surmised that something could be wrong due to the fact that diesel engine oil is in the coolant and would also show up as CO gases. They promptly sent a quote to replace the motor with a secondhand used motor for the sum of $15,878. Dazed and confused I went and asked some very clever friends, one being and engine reconditioning expert, they all agreed that something didn’t sound right so maybe have it towed out of there for further checks. LUCKY I DID I had the car towed back to Thomastown and checked by another mechanic. His instant response was very satisfying because his first words were, let’s change the oil cooler and flush out the system that should do it. I was impressed with his confidence and left the car with him, by Saturday night at 8:30 I picked it up and the following day towed my 2800 kilo caravan to Warrnambool, the car didn’t miss a beat and the problem had been fixed for $1,300. This needs to be told because I want to help anyone else who attends Poly 4x4 to be aware of the terrible mechanical diagnosis preformed on my car, and what would appear to be the blatant attempted rip-off. If you have the slightest doubt get your car out of there and get a second opinion. I have attached pictures so John can’t comment as I’ve seen many times with the line we have no record of having your vehicle at our premises. And one month later and surprise surprise, the car is still going extremely well. No thanks the Poly 4x4, the motor hasn’t suffered a catastrophic failure as this company claimed the head gaskets haven’t failed yet this company have stated in the review above that according to the mechanics my motor was stuffed. Thanks to Melbourne muscle cars in Thomastown for recognizing the oil cooler problem and fixing it for $1300.

Lost a valuable part of my earring and was not getting anywhere with anyone willing to help to recover it that fell under the carpet of the driver’s seat. Poly 4x4 were absolutely accommodating and helpful with agreeing to get the driver’s car seat out and look for a needle in a haystack. They found what I lost and did an amazing job from start to finish, exceptional customer service and an amazing business to deal with. My Jeep is all fixed and it's all because of POLY 4X4. They wanted to help but had no time to assist just like everyone else this time of the year (5 days before Christmas) and completly understandable. However John from Poly 4x4 squeezed me into an already impossible mechanics schedule the very next morning and we are back on the road again. Next time you're in Melbourne and you need servicing or parts make them your first call. Even if they can't fit you in straight away, that one time you have an emergency they just might. They just saved our family holiday and the service from the staff was nothing but exceptional. I called a jeep dealer I've always dealt with first and they didn't even want to know me. The issue was split intercooler core spraying oil onto the condensor then running down to the belly pan and floor. Without Poly 4x4 our family holiday would have been dead and buried and to tell 3 little kids that 4 days prior would have been heartbreaking. Thanks Poly 4x4 and especially John and the mechanics, hope you enjoyed those cold beers.

Travelling through vic and had some problems with my WJ Grand Cherokee. At such short notice, John was willing to have a look at the jeep even though they were fully booked out. For the work that they did, I thought the pricing was quite fair. Safe to say that the WJ is good to go and it has never driven this nice before. Great work from the guys at Poly 4x4 and I’m very thankful for their work without any notice. Shame we don’t have a Jeep specialist this good back home! Recommend!

Can't express how grateful we were to be recommended to Jim and the Team at Poly 4 x 4. We've always serviced at Jeep, but no longer .... Had issues with items lighting up on dash. Booked in - had phone call within 30 minutes of arriving home fully diagnosed. Explained clearly the issues and what we needed to do to fix them in plain english. ALL parts available - replaced same day and all done faster than normal service !!!!!! Quality communication, No BS, VERY reasonable pricing and fast turn around work. Could NOT ask for more. Have a Jeep ? This is where you need to go.
